Bijapur, now known as Vijayapur is a beautiful city located in the state of Karnataka in South India. The city is better known for the historical monuments that dot the city. Most of the monuments that stand today were built during the rule of the Adil Shah Dynasty. Vijayapur itself has over 50 mosques, more than 20 tombs and a number of palaces.
