Sibsagar, situated in the eastern part of Assam, has a rich aesthetic appeal. Beautiful temples, monuments and palaces here attract a lot of tourists every year and thus, contributing to the tourism industry of Northeast India. One of the many places of interest here is a water tank called the Bhorpukhuri. There are three temples within this tank, which is situated at an elevated region.

Winter season extends from the month of December to February. The minimum temperature ranges from 10°C to 12°C. Maximums stay around 24°C but occasionally touch 30°C. The month of February remains pleasant and comfortable.

In the summer season, from March to June, day temperature ranges between 27°C and 31°C. Nights become cooler with minimums in the low twenties. You can expect few spells of light rain in this season as well.

The monsoon season begins in the month of June and lasts till September. Rainfall is extensive during July and August and the weather remains extremely humid. This region receives abundant rainfall and the entire region becomes lush green at this time. The day temperatures range between 31°C and 33°C. The minimums remain at a comfortable level of mid-twenties. One can experience the natural beauty of the various lakes here in September.

Temperatures during the months of October and November remain comfortable and mark the beginning of the tourist season. This is also a good time to visit the man-made lake called Joysagar located in Rangpur.
