Situated on the banks of River Chambal, Kota is a town of india's northwestern state of Rajasthan. Once ruled by Rajputs, Kota is known for its palaces, monuments and gardens reflecting the glory of the town.

City witnesses moderate winter starting from late November till February. Maximum temperatures settle in mid 20s, while minimums below 12°C. The winter is largely dry season, however, scattered light rainfall can be witnessed due to Western Disturbance passing over the region.

Kota has a semi-arid climate with high temperatures across the year. Summers are long, hot and dry, beginning from March to June. Maximum temperature settle over 40°C, while minimums in high 20s.

Southwest Monsoon starts affecting the city from end of June till mid September. The average annual rainfall in the Kota district is 700 mm. During this season, maximum temperatures settle in mid 30s and minimums in mid 20s with high humidity levels.
