Situated at a height of about 7, 700 feet above the sea level in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand, Mukteshwar is a calm and secluded hilly town that attracts thousands of tourists every year. Though, it is not as popular as Nainital, its scenic beauty amazes everyone visiting the place. Mukteshwar offers a breathtaking view of the Himalayas. This hilly town observes three main seasons- winter, summer and monsoon.

The winter season starts in November and lasts till the end of March. These months are very cold with minimums settling at 3°C on an average. At times temperatures slip to sub-zero levels. Snowfall during the months of December, January and February is very common making it a perfect time for those who want to explore winter at its best.

Summer months from April to May are very pleasant, offering majestic views. The temperatures during this period are comfortable with maximums settling around 25°C and minimums around 12°C, on an average. This is one of the best times to visit the place.

Monsoon season is from July to September. The place receives good amounts of rain during the period. Any plans of travelling to Mukteshwar during this time should be avoided as landslides are very common and may lead to road blocks.

The best time to visit Mukteshwar is during winter and summer. Summer months are pleasant and best for sightseeing and enjoying the scenic beauty.
