Weather Forecast Oct 14: Delhi pollution spikes, rain ahead for Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad

During the last 24 hours, the Southwest Monsoon has left more parts of the country and the withdrawal line at present is passing through Kishanganj, Bankura, Jamshedpur, Champa, Seoni, Khargone, Baruch and Diu. Monsoon has bid farewell to states like Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, as well as some parts of Chhattisgarh and West Bengal.

Starting with the weather of South India, a Cyclonic Circulation lies over coastal parts of Andhra Pradesh. A Trough is extending from this system to Tamil Nadu. Due to these systems, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Heavy rains are likely at isolated places over North Andhra Pradesh and South Interior Karnataka. Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad will see a warm and humid day alongwith chances of light rains.

Coming onto Central India, here southern and central parts of Chhattisgarh as well as Vidarbha might receive light to moderate rain and thundershowers. Northern parts of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat would remain mostly dry. Weather over Bhopal and Mumbai will remain dry as well.

Talking about East and Northeast India, here a Cyclonic Circulation is over North Andhra Pradesh. Thus, central and southern parts of Odisha will experience light to moderate rains and thundershowers. While weather will remain dry over Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. Also, a Cyclonic Circulation lies over Bangladesh and adjoining parts of Tripura. Due to this system, light rains are likely at scattered places over Sikkim, Tripura, Mizoram and Manipur. Kolkata with remain dry and warm.

Lastly in North India, due to prevalence of dry winds, dry weather will prevail over Plains of Northwest India including that of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Dry weather is likely to continue over most parts of hills as well. Delhi’s air quality is forecast to remain poor again for the fifth consecutive day. Here a cloudy day a being forecast.
