Scattered light to moderate rain and snow lashed Jammu and Kashmir during the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, parts of Himachal Pradesh observed isolated activities. As per the rainfall data available with Skymet, Qazi Gund recorded 7 mm of rainfall, Gulmarg 3 mm and Manali 1 mm in a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday.

Our meteorologists have predicted isolated rainfall activities in parts of Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours. There are chances of isolated light rain in Vaishno Devi, Katra (Jammu and Kashmir) during the same span.

An increase in the rainfall activities is anticipated around November 26, wherein moderate spells of rain and thundershowers with light snowfall may drench Vaishno Devi (Katra). The higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, as well as Himachal Pradesh, may experience moderate snowfall as well. Amidst this, Uttarakhand may receive light snow and scattered rainfall activities. Such weather conditions would persist until November 27.

If you are planning to visit Mata Vaishno Devi within this span, then due precautions must be taken as rains may trigger landslides and mudslides.

November 28 onward, rains would start reducing as the Western Disturbance will start moving away eastwards. In the wake of rains, temperatures would drop significantly leading to cold days and chilly nights.
