Winter is the coldest season in China from December to February. January is considered as the coldest month with average temperature lower than 0℃, covering two thirds of China.

The northern chunk of China encounters cold weather initially and the chilly cold feeling lasts much longer in comparison to southern areas. Rains will fall as sleet and snow and quite often can be witnessed as frost and ice on the floor during the morning hours.

To relish the jaw dropping snowy landscapes, one can visit the northeast regions of China that includes three provinces of Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang. China’s Northeast region is famous for skiing, sledding and skating and all other winter activities.
