Dry weather to prevail in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, foggy mornings likely

With the fall in temperatures, cold wave has started showing upon Pakistan which is already whirling under dry weather conditions. The extent of cold weather conditions across the country can be made out from the fact that fog or mist has been recorded in parts of the country.

In the last 24 hours also, rains remained absent and the minimums dropped a few notches. In fact, the night temperatures in the higher northern regions of the country such as Dir, Chitral even recorded the minimums below the zero-degree mark. Quetta and Kalat also recorded the minimums at -2°C and -7°C respectively.

Along with the cold wave, fog or mist was also reported in parts of the country. Sialkot recorded dense foggy Tuesday morning with the visibility dropping less than 0.5 km. Moderate fog was also reported in Bahawalpur and Sukkur. Though the morning skies were mainly clear in most of the other parts of the country.

For the next 3-4 days, the somewhat similar weather is anticipated to continue in Pakistan. The temperatures will continue to drop leading to colder weather to prevail. Mist or haze and shallow to moderate fog are likely to continue in most parts.

However, by November 25 or 26, a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to approach which may give light rain over the country mainly over North Pakistan. However, Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, and Peshawar are expected to remain dry.
