The Bureau of Meteorology has revealed the coldest day that every region of the UK will witness in the coming days.
Wales will be witnessing the coldest day measuring the temperatures at -5°C on 17th January while Scotland is expected to observe the coldest day on January 4 when temperature is likely to hit an average of -8.9°C.
Braemar and Aberdeenshire had recorded a shivering -27.2°C on January 10, 1982, that still holds back the record of being the coldest since ages.
On January 20, Yorkshire & Humber both are expected to experience the freezing weather as chilly air is also expected to sweep and shed the temperatures to -7.8°C.
Though the normally mild South East is still expected to stay warmer as compared to the other regions and the coldest that this part of the state will witness is likely to settle at -5.4°C on January 19.
The hunt for the coldest weather that these districts will continue to experience is based on the research carried out by Glowing Embers who looked at the last 30 years of weather data to figure out the coldest days for each of the regions during the winter season.
Speaking about the coldest day for the UK, it is expected to be January 14 when temperature will plunge to a -6.9°C.
Speaking about the research, Richard Fewings, Director of Glowing Embers, said: “We’re not that blessed when it comes to mild winters. As of now, hefty and tenacious freezing showers are a near inevitability across the UK on Christmas Day with multiple feet deep snowdrifts lasting into the New Year amid sub-zero conditions.
