Hurricane Jose: Do not think it is over just yet

Hurricane Irma continues to wreak havoc over Florida. The storm has killed close to three dozen people so far and the devastation trend continues. Though the once strongest hurricane in the history of Atlantic has weakened into a Category 2 storm, the worst is not over yet.

On the other hand, Hurricane Jose which was supposed to follow Irma’s path moved towards open waters sparing the hurricane Irma hit Caribbean Islands. The storm which happened to be a Cat 4 hurricane until yesterday has now weakened into a Cat 3 hurricane now.

However, Hurricane Jose should not be forgotten yet. In fact, the residents of the East Coast of the United States should keep track of Hurricane Jose now. Hurricane Jose is currently located some hundred miles North of Puerto Rico at present.

Instead of following the footsteps of Hurricane Irma and ravaging islands of Antigua and Barbuda along with other Caribbean Islands, Jose followed a northerly direction sparing these region from more damage.

Along with this, St. Martin and St. Barts were also spared from Jose’s fury which had become a Cat 4 hurricane then. Jose continued to hurl through mid-Atlantic. Just about a few hours ago, Hurricane Jose was moving at the speed of 16 miles per hour in a northwest direction and packed winds of 120 mph.

However, as Jose is likely to continue swirling in the Atlantic for the next few days, weather experts after taking a few models into consideration have warned that it is possible that Jose may make a series of loops and pose threat to the East Coast in about 7 to 10 days. In fact, strong riptides are possible in the New York area during the coming weekend.
