Weather is all around us and all the time. It definitely forms an important part of our day to day lives and how can our B-town ignore weather? Different shades of weather spell magic, romance, intensity, drama and poetry to Bollywood movies. Just that its interpretation varies from context to context resulting in assorted panoramas.

Songs convey a significant chunk of the script in our Hindi movies and it’s in these songs that writers plan to capture essence of rain, snow, breath-taking views of lofty mountains, waterfalls and lakes.

This National film award winner brings out the best of Kashmir and the song Yeh Haseen Vadiyaan gets full points for certifying that Kashmir is the true paradise on Earth. Blessed singer Arijit Singh’s rendition of the song Kabhi jo badal barse from the movie Jackpot is a very romantic and soulful track. The incredible tranquility of the place and the song is by far the best part of the movie.

 

Yeh mausam ka jadoo hai mitwa - Hum Aapke Hain Koun

This romantic song from Sooraj Barjatya's blocbuster Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, is shot in the picturesque tea estates of Coonoor in Tamil Nadu. The song forms an important part of the film as Pooja (Madhuri Dixit) falls in love with Prem (Salman Khan) during the course of this song.

 

Jo haal dil ka - Sarfarosh

Rains have always made our B-town actresses look the hottest. Sonali Bendre looked extremely hot in this song as we all know that wetter the sari, hotter the actress looks! Rain in this song triggered her burning desire for Amir Khan.

 

Subhanallah - Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

To much displeasure of the then Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, attribution of this song and other scenes of the movie went to Manali while they were filmed in north Kashmir's Gulmarg. No matter what, we love this track showcasing oodles of tender and innocent mushiness.

One more very popular song used rain as prop to take the story of the movie forward.

Jiya Jale - Dil Se

This song was shot in various beautiful locations of Kerala including Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in Thekkady and Athirapally Falls. The Alleppey Backwaters became a favourite honeymoon destination after we saw Preity Zinta and Shah Rukh Khan romancing on the boats.

Taal se Taal - Taal

The astounding choreography and tune by A R Rahman helped to enhance the subtlety of this number in the Jhumahar Valley of Himachal Pradesh.
