Like the previous day, the Delhi region received light or no rainfall in the past 24 hours. The base station Safdarjung and the Meteorological Office at Lodhi Road did not record any rainfall, and the Palam observatory also did not register any measurable rainfall. Exceptions were Ridge and Pitampura, which recorded moderate rainfall of 38 mm and 26.5 mm, respectively. On the outskirts of Delhi, Bulandshahr also received moderate rainfall amounting to 31 mm. Light to moderate rainfall was observed in Noida, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad. Similar conditions, albeit with a sequential increase in intensity, are likely today, tomorrow, and the day after. More activity is expected on Sunday.

The monsoon trough continues to remain in proximity to Delhi. At the surface level, it is passing through Bikaner, Jaipur, Gwalior, and further extending eastward. The low-pressure area over east Madhya Pradesh has weakened, but the remnant cyclonic circulation persists over the west and central parts of the state. The other circulation over Punjab has also weakened, leaving a diffused bubble over north Rajasthan and south Punjab. The monsoon trough is connecting these two circulations and keeping monsoon activity live over Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.

Delhi has received 328.5 mm of rainfall in the month of August, and the tally will increase over the remaining days of the month. Significant rainfall is expected on Sunday, 31st August, but as per norms, it will be counted against 01st September. Delhi has received 328.5 mm of rainfall so far, against the monthly normal of 226.8 mm, an excess of 45% between 01st and 29th August 2025.

Scattered showers are likely during the day today, and the activity may ease out at night. It will pick up again late tomorrow, with more activity expected in the evening and night. Intensity and spread will increase on Sunday and spill over into Monday and Tuesday as well. With persistent clouds and intermittent rains, weather conditions will remain comfortable, especially at night. The day temperature is expected to remain in the low 30s and the minimum in the low 20s over the weekend, with pleasant conditions likely to persist until midweek next.
