Weather Forecast Aug 25: Heavy Rains in Ujjain, Indore, Ambikapur, Sundergarh, Sambalpur, Bilaspur

Yesterday’s Cyclonic Circulation now lies over North Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas and the Axis of Monsoon Trough passes through North of Rajasthan, then over the central parts of circulation and further towards Low-Pressure Area over Bay of Bengal across North Chhattisgarh and North Odisha. Thus, the rainfall activities will continue over most parts of Madhya Pradesh with moderate intensity. Bhopal, Ratlam, Ujjain, Khargone, and Dhar to witness moderate rains with isolated heavy spells.

Isolated heavy spells may occur over the southwest parts of the state as well. While scattered light to moderate rains are also possible over the eastern parts of Gujarat. The rain activity will reduce over Odisha and South Chhattisgarh while interior parts of Odisha and North Chhattisgarh will continue with moderate spells. Places like Sundergarh, Sambalpur, Phulbani in Odisha, Ambikapur, Bilaspur and Pendra in Chhattisgarh will see such kind of rains.

Maharashtra will mainly witness scattered light rains. In the eastern parts of the country, the Cyclonic Circulation over the Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha has now intensified into a Low-Pressure Area. Therefore, moderate rains are expected over extreme southern parts of Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand.

Whereas scattered light rains are likely over Bihar, rest part of Jharkhand and West Bengal.Also, a Cyclonic Circulation can be seen over Nagaland. Because of this system, light to moderate rains is expected over Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura and Nagaland whereas Assam, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh to see light rains. Up in the North, the Western Disturbance has now weakened and persists as an upper-air Trough and is likely to move away.

The Axis of Monsoon Trough has now shifted to South and is moving across North Rajasthan, and then towards central parts of the country. Therefore, light to moderate rains are possible over some parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Chances of landslides will continue over the regions. Whereas Jammu and Kashmir will be nearly dry. Scattered moderate rains are likely over central parts of Uttar Pradesh, Southeast Rajasthan while light to moderate rains can be seen over West Uttar Pradesh, Northeast Rajasthan, Delhi, East Haryana and East Punjab. While dry weather will be seen over the extreme western parts of Rajasthan and adjoining Punjab and Haryana.

Lastly in South, due to the presence of wind shear zone, moderate to heavy rains will continue across Coastal Karnataka and Kerala. Tamil Nadu and South Interior Karnataka including Bengaluru to witness scattered light rains with one or two moderate spells. Whereas rain activity will reduce significantly over Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with Hyderabad to witness mainly dry weather with comfortable day.
