Weather Forecast for August 13: Kerala Floods to persist; rain in Mumbai, Konkan and Goa

Beginning with South India, due to persistence of off shore trough, moderate to heavy rains will continue over Kerala, Coastal Karnataka. Thus, flood situation in Kerala will remain grim. Light to moderate rain is likely over parts of Telangana, North Andhra Pradesh, Interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Moving to North, due to Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir, and a cyclonic circulation over North Haryana and the western end of Monsoon trough over Punjab and North Haryana, moderate rains will continue over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, North Punjab and North Haryana. Landslides are also likely in the hills. Delhi rains are expected to occur. Rains will be heavier over the state of Uttar Pradesh. On the other hand, East Rajasthan may see light rains.

East and Northeast India, Monsoon trough and cyclonic circulation over North Coastal Odisha and Northwest Bay will give moderate to heavy rains over West Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. Northeast India will see moderate to heavy rains due to a cyclonic circulation over West Assam.

Central India, moderate to heavy rains over Konkan and Goa and Chhattisgarh while light to moderate rains over East Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. West Madhya Pradesh will be dry while rains will be light over Gujarat and rest of Maharashtra. Mumbai rains will now increase.
