Weather Forecast for Feb 12: Cold wave conditions to abate from northern plains, fog likely to be observed in East India

Up in the North a Western Disturbance lies over Ladakh and adjoining area. In the wake of this weather system, North Jammu and Kashmir, upper reaches of Ladakh, a few places in Himachal Pradesh and isolated places in Uttrakhand may receive light to moderate rain and snowfall.
The weather of northern plains will remain dry. Meanwhile, the minimums of Punjab, Haryana and Delhi may rise by two to three degrees Celsius leading to abatement of cold wave conditions.

Coming to central India an anti-cyclone is persisting over Vidarbha region in Maharashtra and adjoining areas. Also, south-easterlies are blowing over Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and in many parts of Madhya Pradesh in the lower levels. Therefore, the maximums and minimums of these places may rise further. The weather in entire central India including the city of Mumbai will remain dry and sunny throughout.

Moving towards East India in Northeast, the weather activities will now subside. However, isolated light rain may occur at a few places in East Assam and in parts of Arunachal Pradesh.
Dry weather conditions will prevail in East India. Shallow to moderate fog can also be observed in East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar during morning hours. The sky will remain clear. Meanwhile, the day temperature may rise marginally in the eastern parts of the country. The city of Kolkata will witness dry weather.

Down South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Coastal Tamil Nadu will continue to observe light rainfall activities with one or two moderate spells. The humid winds from the Bay of Bengal will continue to feed moisture over Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. Isolated light rain is also likely in parts of Telangana, while the weather of Karnataka including the city of Bengaluru, Kerala and interior Tamil Nadu will remain dry.
Meanwhile, Chennai may see light rain, while Hyderabad is expected to observe isolated light rain with thundery activity.
