Weather Forecast for Jan 17: Rain and Snow in Kashmir, Himachal, Fog to make a comeback in Northwest India

A Western Disturbance is approaching Western Himalayas. An induced cyclonic circulation will also form over central Pakistan which would change the wind direction. In wake of the weather system, we expect isolated rain and snow at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand would remain dry. The minimum temperatures are expected to rise over most parts of northwestern plains including Delhi. In fact, shallow to moderate fog may also make a comeback over these areas.

Moving to East and Northeast India, weather would remain dry. However, dense to very dense fog would prevail over many parts of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. In fact, cold day conditions are also likely over North Bihar and North Uttar Pradesh. Moderate to dense fog is also expected over Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Tripura.

In Central India, the minimum temperatures across Rajasthan, Gujarat most parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha had dropped. However, now we expect a gradual rise in minimums over these areas but the day temperate will not witness much change.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

Down South, dry weather will persist over entire southern peninsula. Meanwhile, scattered rain may occur over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana and Interior Tamil Nadu would have warm days as the maximum temperatures are likely to settle around 32 °C- 34°C but weather during the night will be comfortable.
