Weather Forecast for July 25: No relief from flooding rains in Uttarakhand and Assam

Lakhs of people have been affected by floods in Uttarakhand and Assam. Arunachal Pradesh is also reeling under flood-like situation as of now. Southwest Monsoon seems to be vigorous over Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim as well. Here’s a look at the weather forecast for tomorrow.

The axis of the Monsoon trough will pass through Ferozepur, Jaipur, Bhopal, Amravati, Jagdalpur, Kalingapatnam and further towards west-central Bay of Bengal.

Light to moderate rains are likely over East Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh. Delhi-NCR will receive only patchy passing showers. Isolated rain may be a chance over Punjab and Haryana. Rainfall intensity will increase over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Very heavy showers at isolated places could bring landslides as well. The Western Disturbance has moved away. Thus, Jammu and Kashmir will have partly cloudy skies but dry weather conditions.

In Northeast India, heavy showers will continue over Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Moderate to heavy showers are expected along the foothills of Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh. But, Jharkhand and West Bengal will receive mainly light rains.

The cyclonic circulation persists over Northwest Madhya Pradesh will affect Central India. Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh will continue to receive moderate to heavy showers. Intensity of rainfall will also increase over Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada. Odisha will receive scattered light rains with one or two moderate spells. Southern parts of Gujarat will receive light rains but rest of the state will remain dry.

The feeble off shore trough prevails along the west coast from Konkan to Kerala. The circulation over West Madhya Pradesh also seems to enhancing the Monsoon surge over the West Coast. Therefore, good showers likely over Konkan and adjoining areas of Coastal Karnataka. Interiors of south Peninsula will receive mainly light rain. Few moderate spells may be witnessed over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
