Weather Forecast for March 25: Hot day conditions to persist over MP, Maharashtra, Telangana

March 24, 2017 4:04 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Central region of the country has been reeling under hot weather conditions. So much so that many districts of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Telangana are already close to 40°C mark. No relief is in sight as the mercury is likely to increase further.

Moving into South India, pre-Monsoon rains have taken a backseat, however light showers are expected over parts of Kerala and adjoining South Coastal Karnataka. All thanks to a trough extending from Assam up to North Kerala. The rest of South India will remain warm and dry.

Up in Northeast India, it is the only region that is witnessing intermittent rainfall activity. Due to a cyclonic circulation over Assam and adjoining areas along with a trough extending from Assam up to Odisha, light to moderate rain will continue over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and many places of northeastern states.

Talking about North India, the Western Disturbance is seen over Jammu and Kashmir. A trough is also extending from North Pakistan to South Pakistan. These weather systems would not have much impact, but isolated showers cannot be ruled out over Jammu and Kashmir. The northwestern plains including Delhi NCR will continue with hot and dry weather conditions.

Now let us have a look at the temperatures across major cities of India.

Delhi and Lucknow will both witness day maximum around 36 degrees, while Kolkata will see maximum temperature of 35 degrees.

Ahmedabad will be quite warm with maximum temperatures around 39 degrees, while Mumbai and Chennai will settle with 34 degrees.
