The very severe cyclonic storm Chapala has made landfall over the Yemen coast. It has now weakened and become insignificant.

The cyclonic circulation marked over the Arabian Sea, off Goa and Konkan coast, has moved further away from the Indian coast. The system could intensify into a low pressure area but, it will not affect the mainland.

The cyclonic circulation prevailing over the Bay of Bengal will gradually become more marked over the next 2 to 3 days. Rainfall activity over the Peninsular India is now following a reducing note. On Wednesday, we could see moderate rainfall over Kerala, Tamil Nadu and South Interior Karnataka. Rest of the places in the region will receive light rains.

Central and Eastern parts of the country will witness clear sky conditions and remain mainly dry, in view of this anti cyclone.

The trough extending from Assam up to Meghalaya will bring some light rainfall over the Northeastern states, Sikkim and Sub Himalayan West Bengal.

Up in North India, the Western Disturbance over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir region could bring some rain and snowfall in the higher reaches. The lowers hills and foothills could also be affected. Accordingly, tomorrow Punjab, Haryana and Delhi- NCR could receive some very light rainfall, during late evening hours.
