Weather Forecast March 10: Rain in Gwalior, Shivpuri, Balasore, Kerala, heatwave likely in Vidarbha

A new fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the northern parts of Himalayas March 11 onward. The Western Disturbance which has travelled from Iran now lies over Afghanistan and adjoining Pakistan. Its induced Cyclonic Circulation is over central parts of Pakistan and adjoining Rajasthan region. The presence of the weather systems would increase the night temperatures over most parts of Northwest plains by March 11. Day temperatures might also observe a rise by a couple of degrees. Dry weather would continue over the hills with clouds in offing. Also, clouding is expected to increase gradually over northwest plains of the country by late evening.

Isolated parts of extreme west Rajasthan and some parts of Punjab might witness light rain and thunderstorm activities towards late evening or night of March 10. Rain activity is likely from March 11 over most parts of hills and the plains.

In East, a small Cyclonic Circulation is expected to develop over North and adjoining coast of Odisha at lower levels. Thunderclouds might build up in parts of 24 Parganas, Midnapore in West Bengal, Balasore, Bhadrak and Baripada in Odisha by late afternoon or evening of March 10 with a chance of light rain or thunderstorm.

Rain and thundershower activities might be a sight over some places of Arunachal Pradesh and adjoining Assam. Dry weather would prevail over rest of East and Northeast India.

In Central India, southerly moist winds from Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea are expected over the region. Hence, night temperature is expected to increase over many parts of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and few parts of Gujarat. Isolated thunderstorm or thundercloud development can be seen over North Madhya Pradesh covering Guna, Shivpuri and Gwalior. Isolated pockets of Vidarbha might witness heatwave type conditions like Chandrapur, Bramhapuri, Yavatmal and Gondia.

Down South, a trough is seen extending from southeast Arabian Sea to extreme South Madhya Maharashtra. Rain and thundershower activities are likely over Kerala, many places of Lakshadweep and isolated places of Karnataka. Day temperatures over Telangana are expected to rise and can be recorded around 37°C-39°C. Humidity levels are expected to go up in Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Dry weather would be seen over Tamil Nadu and most parts of Karnataka.
