Active Monsoon has given good rains over the region of Konkan and Goa, during the last 24 hours. According to the data available with Skymet, in the last 24 hours, from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Harnai has recorded 49 mm of rainfall, followed by Alibag 41 mm and Mahabaleshwar 25 mm.

At present, a Cyclonic Circulation is over South Gujarat and adjoining region. A Trough is also extending from the Konkan and Goa region up to Kerala Coast. These systems would give light to moderate rains with a few heavy spells over Konkan and Goa for the next four to five days. The Monsoon rains may occur with varied intensity in different parts of the region during this period.

Meanwhile, parts of Vidarbha such as Gondia, Chandrapur, and Yavatmal may receive light to moderate rains until July 5. Thereafter, the intensity may go down, however, scattered rains may continue. On the other hand, scattered light rains will lash Madhya Maharashtra throughout the week. Chances of isolated moderate spells cannot be ruled out here.

During this rainy episode, Mumbai and its suburbs will continue to get light to moderate rains. There is a possibility of isolated heavy spells as well, but rains will not be as vigorous as they were between June 28 and July 1. Overall the weather will remain cloudy and comfortable.

Thus, we can say for the next week, on and off rains will continue over the interior parts of Maharashtra. The Konkan and Goa region, in particular, will observe active Monsoon conditions for another week. These rains will improve the rain deficiency of the state to a large extent.
