After heavy Mumbai rains in pockets, no hefty showers until July 24

Mumbai rains which had been in hiding for quite some time have once again made an appearance over the city with yesterday seeing some intense rains in pockets.

In fact, many parts of the city have seen some heavy rainfall activities. As per Skymet's AWS Data, in the last 24 hours, Kings Circle saw around 40 mm of rains, while 27 mm rains were seen in Fort with 26 mm of rainfall in Colaba. Double digit rains were seen in Chembur, Kandivali and Ghatkopar.

On the other hand, rainfall was heavier over the suburbs with Vashi recording 58.66 mm of rains in 24 hours while Ghansoli saw 31 mm of rainfall. Moderate rains were also witnessed in Belapur and Seawoods.

However, next two to three days will not see any intense showers and only some rains will be seen. On the other hand, Monsoon surge will increase over the city of Mumbai around July 25 onward. In fact, around 30-40 mm rains may be seen on July 25 while over 100 mm of rains may be seen on July 26.

Thus, rains may see an increase around July 25, further intensifying on July 26. Until then, i.e. on July 24, light to moderate rains will be seen, i.e. around 15-20 mm.
