Assam Floods situation to remain grim

Northeast India has been reeling under flooding conditions. The state of Assam's flood situation is bad enough wherein around two lakh people have been affected. At least 7 people have been declared dead and more than 33000 people are in relief camps at present.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Silchar recorded a whopping 120 mm of rains, Majbat 89 mm, and North Lakhimpur 79 mm.

Weather wise, heavy rains over the state of Assam is expected to continue. Rains will be heavier today over Meghalaya and Assam. Tomorrow, eastern parts of Assam will see heavier showers. The flood situation will remain grim for at least a week.
