Best time for tourists to flock to Srinagar, Sonmarg, Kullu, Manali, Gulmarg as weather clears

The Western Disturbance is moving across Northeast Jammu and Kashmir due to which scattered rain and snow were observed in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and many parts of Uttarakhand during the last 24 hours. Manali during this period recorded 1 mm of rain, while Qazi Gund observed 2 mm of rainfall.

Today, we expect light isolated activity to continue over the Ladakh region. The northern parts of Uttarakhand might also observe light rain and snowfall activities. The activity might, however, reduce gradually tomorrow in these areas.

On the contrary, rainfall will reduce over Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Most parts of Jammu and Kashmir will observe a partly cloudy sky as the day progresses.

Mostly sunny days will encourage tourism in popular tourist destinations like Gulmarg, Sonmarg, Shimla, Kullu and Manali. Here the weather is likely to remain mainly clear for the next 48 hours.

However, another fresh Western Disturbance is expected to approach the northern hills around February 3.

This weather system will be responsible for a fresh spell of rain and snow in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. This is when the temperatures will drop again and cold winds will prevail over the region.
