After a long gap, Tamil Nadu witnessed scattered light to moderate rains during the last two days. These rains were confined mainly to the interior and southern districts of the state. However, few spells were also reported over the coastal stations of the state.

In fact, Chennai rains also made a comeback after a month, though the intensity of rain was very light. But these light rains were a blessing in disguise from the prevalent warm and humid weather conditions.

The wind confluence zone which was responsible for these rains has now moved away leading to dry and sunny weather conditions in most parts of the state including Chennai.

However, the interior districts adjacent to Kerala and South Interior Karnataka might see isolated spells. Places such as Udamangalam and Kodaikanal are expected to record light rains.

As per Skymet Weather, rain in Chennai and adjoining districts are not likely to make a comeback for the next few days. Day temperatures are likely to settle in the lower 30s, hence warm and humid weather conditions will persist. In fact, the night temperatures will also hover around 23 to 24 degree Celsius. Henceforth, no relief is likely during the night as the weather is expected to be warm.

Entire Tamil Nadu including Chennai mainly remains dry during February. Any spell of rain or thundershower is a sigh of relief for the people.
