Cyclone Titli: Scattered rain and thundershower ahead for Central India

October 11, 2018 5:13 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Presently, central parts of the country have been experiencing dry and hot weather conditions for last many days. Now due to the influence of Cyclone Titli, sky conditions in many parts of Chhattisgarh and a few parts of East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha has become cloudy.

As per the weathermen, we expect scattered rain and thundershower activities to occur over one or two parts of East Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha. All these regions are in the reach of the outer periphery of the cyclone.

The cyclone will now gradually move in northeast direction, yet scattered rain is likely to continue over these areas for another 24 hours. Although, weather of West Uttar Pradesh and most parts of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra will remain dry and warm.

After 24 hours, weather of entire Central India will become clear and temperatures which showed a decline by 2°C to 3°C in the past few hours across Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, and parts of Vidarbha are expected to rise once again.

The drop in temperatures can be associated to humid winds from Bay of Bengal which have induced cloud cover and scattered rains over these areas.

After October 12, we expect dry Northwesterly winds to commence over entire Central India. Hence, humidity levels will decrease. Sky will become clear leading to dry and warm weather conditions once again.
