As predicted by Skymet weather, during the last 24 hours, dry and warm weather conditions were observed over the capital city of Tamil Nadu, Chennai and its adjoining region. In fact, the sky conditions remained partly cloudy.

Now during the next 24 hours, weather over Chennai will remain dry and humid along with light to moderate winds. Day will be warm, and night will remain comfortable. Sky conditions will be partly cloudy to cloudy.

However, due to presence of cyclonic storm Gaja over East central Bay of Bengal and adjoining region, the surface wind will be increasing gradually. As this system would be intensifying into a severe cyclonic storm during the next 24 hours and moving in west /northwest direction the surface winds and clouding will increase gradually.

From November 13, light rainfall activity is expected to commence over the city with continuous increase of wind speed. However, on November 14, this system is expected to change its track as west/southwesterly and weaken into a cyclonic storm.

Furthermore, this system will be weakening into a deep-depression and crossing the Chennai Coast around November 15. During this time i.e. between November 14 and 15, strong winds, rough sea conditions with high waves and continuous rainfall activity are expected to lash the capital city Chennai and its nearby areas.
