Scattered rains have been witnessed over many parts of Chhattisgarh and few areas of East Madhya Pradesh in the past 24 hours. Within a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday, Ambikapur recorded 13 mm of rains, Durg 11 mm, Bilaspur 9 mm and Betul 6 mm.

The current weather condition over both the states can be attributed to the deep depression seen over Gangetic West Bengal North Bay Of Bengal that is likely to move in a northwest direction towards the state of Jharkhand. In addition to this, a trough is also extending from Odisha up to Maharashtra across Chhattisgarh.

With this, weathermen at Skymet Weather expect the rain activity to pace up across entire Chhattisgarh as well as central and eastern districts of Madhya Pradesh. Light to moderate rains are possible over many places with one or two heavy spells in the next 24 to 48 hours.

However, northwestern parts of Madhya Pradesh will continue to reel under dry weather during this period.

Morning and nights will remain pleasant in both the states, with clammy afternoons. Day maximums are likely to range in 30-33 degrees, while minimums will settle in 21-24 degrees.
