As per the Northern Railways, close to 50 trains bound to Delhi were delayed. The thick fog cover over Delhi and NCR even led to crashing of 12 vehicles together at the Yamuna Expressway, Noida. One person is reported to succumbed to death while 10 were extremely bruised.

Very dense fog was witnessed over Palam airport, Delhi along with over Amritsar and Lucknow. Visibility recorded during early morning hours of today over the region was 0 or close to 0 meters.

In Delhi, 0 meters visibility was recorded from 04:30 am to 9:30 am, 0 meters visibility in Amritsar was recorded from 07:30 am to 10 am. While visibility was close to 0 meters in Lucknow from 2am to 8am.

Both the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to drop over these areas. However, till date, not much heavy snowfall has occurred over Western Himalayas which is why the northwesterly winds, are not as cold as they should have been.
