Dry Weather Conditions For Delhi: Mercury Drop On Weekend
The month of November has started on a dry note for Delhi. In continuation with the fag end of October, night temperatures continue to remain in the mid-teens, slightly above normal. This trend will persist, and temperatures may rise by another degree or so in the next 48 hours. Thereafter, a nip in the air is likely around the approaching weekend.
November, as such, is the least rainy month, with normal rainfall of just 4.1 mm. The month has a record of remaining dry quite often, barring a few exceptions. Last year was completely dry, while the year before was rather wet with 17.7 mm of rainfall. Rainfall, if any, usually remains in single digits and typically occurs in the second half of the month. As per the pentad normal, the capital city starts with a minimum temperature of 15°C and ends up plunging to around 10°C toward the end of the month.
A western disturbance is expected to arrive on 4th November 2025. The low-level winds will start backing to become light easterlies tonight itself. A feeble east-west trough will run from North Punjab to Southwest Uttar Pradesh, across Haryana and Delhi, on 4th November. Some showers are likely over the plains and rain/snow in the hills. Delhi lies on the outer periphery and may witness a ‘touch and go’ situation. A few clouds will appear during the day tomorrow, with light sprinkles possible in some parts late at night. Weather will turn fair and bright again the next day, on Wednesday.
Good weather conditions will prevail for more than a week starting 5th November. A temperature drop is expected between 7th and 10th November. Following rain and snow in the hills, dry and cold northwesterly winds will blow down the slopes, adding a chill to the air. Misty mornings, light breeze, and a typical pleasant winter nip are expected to set in and remain the hallmark of the season until at least mid-month.
