A fresh western disturbance will affect the western Himalayan region over the next 24 to 36 hours. The system will affect the states of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh in particular. It is expected to bring rain and snow at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and in a few places over Himachal Pradesh. Isolated rain may also occur over parts of North Punjab.

Places like Gulmarg and Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir will be affected by this fresh western disturbance. Whereas, in Himachal Pradesh, places like Chamba, Kullu, and Lahul and Spiti will come under the influence of the system. These areas are expected to receive rain and snow over the next 24 to 36 hours.

Meanwhile, parts of east Madhya Pradesh, north Chattisgarh, and east Uttar Pradesh will also get scattered rain showers during the next 48 hours. These rain showers will be induced by a cyclonic variation moving towards North Madhya Pradesh causing rain over the region. Cold day conditions are expected to prevail in isolated areas.

This is the same cyclonic variation which first affected southeast Rajasthan and north Madhya Pradesh and will now be shifting towards east Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, and east Uttar Pradesh.
