Good rains ahead for Bengaluru, Karnataka

September 23, 2017 4:36 PM | Skymet Weather Team

On September 16, Bengaluru had observed some light spells of Monsoon showers. Since then, several parts of Karnataka, particularly, the interior regions including Bengaluru had not received good rains. Also, the coastal districts of Karnataka which were recording good showers have become almost dry. Hence, it seems that good rains have not paved their way towards the capital city of Karnataka, Bengaluru.

In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, the state capital, Bengaluru recorded mere traces of rainfall activity, Gadag 1 mm. Whereas, the other cities of Karnataka continued to reel under mainly dry weather conditions.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, a trough is expected to form over Northwest Bay of Bengal up to extreme North of Tamil Nadu across South interior Karnataka. Due to this, after witnessing a few days of dry spells, good rains and thundershower activities are likely to lash several places in Karnataka including Bengaluru during the next 24 hours.

The intensity of these rains is expected to increase further during the next three to four days. Therefore, moderate spells with a few isolated heavy showers are expected in many places over southern and northern parts of Karnataka. Whereas interior parts of Karnataka, as well as Bengaluru, will witness moderate spells from tomorrow onwards.
