Good rains in sight for Madhya Pradesh

Usually the western regions of Madhya Pradesh observe good rainfall during the month of June and the month ended with 4 percent surplus rain. On the contrary, East Madhya Pradesh witnessed a rain deficiency of 26 percent in the month of June.

During last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Thursday, Guna recorded 51 mm rain and Betul observed rain of 34.4 mm while Khandwa and Sagar witnessed very light rain.

The rain is expected to pick up pace over parts of East and North Madhya Pradesh during next 2 days. Thereafter, rain intensity is likely to increase from July 4 to July 6 over many parts of Madhya Pradesh. Few heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is also expected over East and Central regions of Madhya Pradesh.With this rain, the deficiency in East Madhya Pradesh region is expected to go down and may further widen in West Madhya Pradesh in the first week of July.

Few districts of Madhya Pradesh will also witness heavy to extremely heavy rainfall during this period. These regions include the capital city of the state; Bhopal, along with Indore and Jabalpur.
