Heavy Monsoon rains to appear over Pune

Pune has been witnessing on and off light rains since many days. As per Skymet Weather’s experts, rain intensity will increase over Pune during the next 24 hours. These Monsoon rains can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which persists over North Konkan and Goa and adjoining South Gujarat and the axis of Monsoon trough is also running from Konkan to Kerala.

Due to its effect, many parts of Pune have received moderate showers. In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Monday, Pune witnessed rains to the tune of 9 mm. As on September 18, Pune is rain surplus by 52 percent.

As per Skymet Weather, moderate to heavy Monsoon rains are likely to continue for another 24 hours. It is anticipated that by September 21, Monsoon rains will once again subside and the weather will start clearing up.

At present, the weather is likely to remain pleasant with cloudy to overcast sky conditions. These hefty rains may even cause waterlogging and traffic jams at many places which are likely to cause inconvenience to the people. The sky will also remain cloudy to overcast. Therefore, it is advisable to take proper precautions while leaving home whenever it rains.
