Mumbai rains have been going on for some time now. The last 24 hours saw moderate rains in many parts and isolated heavy showers. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Santa Cruz recorded 45 mm of rains while Colaba saw 24 mm of rains. Rains have been continuous with short breaks in between.
The Low Pressure Area which was over Odisha and adjoining areas moved a little inland, with the associated Cyclonic Circulation lying over the land and the system being over the coast. The convergence zone of the system is extending far ahead, and the east west shear zone is also in proximity of Mumbai.
Under the influence of these weather systems, we can expect rains today and tomorrow. Rains may be on the heavier side today. Moreover, the possibility of three digit rains cannot be ruled out. There is a possibility of waterlogging etc. Rainfall may be slightly less intense as compared to today, and then may further ease out day after tomorrow.
