Heavy rain in Patna, Bahraich, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Muzaffarpur, Purnea

Since the arrival of Monsoon over Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, good rainfall activity has been going on over both the states. In fact, most of the places over these states received light to moderate rains with few isolated extremely heavy showers over the northern districts of Uttar Pradesh during the last 24 hours.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Saturday, Bahraich 72.8 mm, Gorakhpur 35.8 mm, Muzaffarpur 24 mm, Bhagalpur 3.4 mm, Supaul 2.4 mm, Farbesganj 2.2 mm, Gaya 0.4 mm, Purnea 0.2 mm.

Currently, a cyclonic circulation is seen over North Bihar and a trough is extending from this system up to Andhra Pradesh Coast. The Axis of monsoon trough is also passing across the foothills.

Therefore, we expect heavy to very heavy rains to occur over Bihar. Moreover, East and North Uttar Pradesh may also receive heavy rainfall activity during the next two to three days.

In Uttar Pradesh places like - Bahraich, Lucknow, Bal Rampur, Saraswathi, Gorakhpur, Basti, Lakhimpur will witness heavy rainfall. Moderate rains will also occur over Sultanpur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ambedkar Nagar. Rest of Uttar Pradesh will receive light rainfall activity.

In Bihar places such as - Kishanganj, Supaul, Madhubani, West Champaran, East Champaran, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Purnea, Katihar will witness heavy to very heavy rains. Patna will also receive heavy rains.

Thus, we can also say flood like situation may become a possibility over Bihar and North Uttar Pradesh. All the people to should take precautions and avoid going out.
