Heavy rains to lash Bhubaneswar, Puri, Paradip, Chandbali, Balasore

After a long gap of time, Odisha has received moderate to heavy showersj on Wednesday. Almost all the districts of Odisha have witnessed rain and thundershower activities, wherein coastal stations received heavy to very rains. The sea conditions also continues to be rough along and off the coast.

Along with rains, gusty winds were also blowing over the region. In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Wednesday, Paradip recorded heavy rain of 77.2 mm, Chandbali 61.2 mm, Puri 79 mm, Gopalpur 50.4 mm, Balasore 33.8 mm, Bhubaneswar 31.7 mm and Cuttack 28.6 mm of rain.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, heavy to very heavy rain can occur over the coastal districts of the state such as Paradip, Chandbali, Balasore, Bhubaneswar, Puri, Cuttack and Gopalpur during the next 24 hours.

The interior districts such as Baripada, Angul, Keonjhargarh, Pulbani, and Jharsuguda are also likely to receive light to moderate rains. However, after 24 hours the intensity of rains will reduce over the state. Isolated light rains are likely over interior parts and scattered light to moderate rains over North coastal Odisha.

The depression which persisting is over north coastal Andhra Pradesh will move towards Gangetic West Bengal and will weaken gradually leading to decrease in rainfall intensity. During the next two days the weather will remain pleasant but thereafter the temperatures will rise as the rain intensity will reduce but it will not become very warm.
