With this, maximum temperatures across the city has been settling in the range of 40C to 43C for consecutively for past one week. On Thursday, Hyderabad recorded day maximum at 42C, which was three degrees above normal average of 38.2C.
Not only this, night temperatures are also settling above normal in mid 20s.
According to Skymet Weather, prolonged dry spell over the region has led to rise in the mercury over the city. In absence of any weather activity, hot inland winds from northwest have been reaching the city.
Although, a trough has developed over Telangana but it is not likely to give any rain activity over the state capital. However, few thundery activities cannot be ruled out.
The trough is likely to increase levels of humidity will further add to the discomfort. Thus, no major respite is in offing from the scorching weather for Hyderabad at least for the next 3-4 days.
India has been battling exceptional summer heat this season. Blame it all on the pre-Monsoon showers that have remained far and few, so far in absence of any weather system. Weathermen predict that nay major relief is only expected with the onset of the Southwest Monsoon in June.
