Hot weather conditions have intensified its grip over Mumbai as well as several parts of Maharashtra. In wake of this, maximum temperatures have been settling several notches above normal.

On Thursday, Dahanu recorded day maximum at 37.6°C, which was 10 degrees above normal. This was followed by Mumbai, where maximum temperatures too settled six degrees above normal.

According to Skymet Weather, warm inland winds continue to blow across the state, leading to increase in the day temperatures. These easterly winds are blowing from Madhya Pradesh and Telangana, which are already witnessing warm weather.

In fact, the feel factor is way too much across the coastal stations as compared to others. Being close proximity to sea, levels of humidity remain high over these regions and this combined with high temperatures lead to unbearably hot weather.

Further, agony of scorching weather is not going to end soon. Weathermen predict that mercury will continue to soar for at least the next three days.

Relief is on cards February 21-22 onwards, wherein winds are likely to change their pattern. Winds will then start blowing from northeast direction, which will be cooler in nature bringing much needed relief over the city.

Let us have a look at the maximum temperatures across Maharashtra on Thursday.
