Southwest Monsoon has been active over Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh for the last 24 hours.

The present weather condition is being dominated by the upper air cyclonic circulation over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha region. It is likely to intensify into a low pressure area within next few hours while lying over west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal.

This weather system is also affecting Telangana. During last 24, Hyderabad recorded 13.2 mm of rainfall. Skymet Weather predicts more rains in Telangana including Hyderabad during the next 2 to 3 days. Gradually, the weather system will extend the rain belt up to Vidarbha. In fact, Chhattisgarh is also receiving good Monsoon showers under the influence of the weather system.

The monthly mean rainfall in Hyderabad is 132.9 mm while the City of Nizams has already received  94 mm of rainfall till September 10. From this we can deduce that Hyderabad will easily achieve its monthly normal target this time around.
