Tamil Nadu is large rain excess between March 1 and May 6th. It is surplus by 104%. Karnataka is in the normal rain category with a surplus of 13%. However, Kerala is deficient by 7% but still in the normal rain category.
Many parts of interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala have received moderate showers during last 24 hours. A trough is extending from Central parts of the country to south interior Karnataka and a cyclonic circulation is over Southwest Bay of Bengal near Tamil Nadu coast. Due to these weather parameters, we expect light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells to occur over Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka during next 48 hours. Thereafter intensity of rain will increase over coastal parts of Karnataka. Weather of Tamil Nadu is expected to go dry from May 10th. But Karnataka may continue to get rain for another 48 hours.
Weather of entire Peninsula will go dry from 11th or May 12th due to the formation of a depression over Bay of Bengal.
