A western disturbance is moving across the mountains of North India. Rain and snowfall will occur over the hills for the next two days. Parts of West Uttar Pradesh and the foothills of Punjab and Haryana will also have scattered light weather activity today. The conditions will improve tomorrow and later, over the entire country, outside the hilly states of North India. Least weather activity is expected between the 05th and 08th Feb over the plains of the country.

A fresh western disturbance will arrive late on 08th Feb over North Pakistan and Jammu & Kashmir. An induced cyclonic circulation is likely over the South Rajasthan region on 09th Feb. The seasonal anticyclone will get pushed eastward over Chhattisgarh and Odisha, far to the east of its normal position. The induced cyclonic circulation will shift over parts of North Madhya Pradesh on 10th Feb.

During this alteration in the weather pattern, a convergence zone will form between the induced cyclonic circulation and the anticyclone. A little bit of moist winds from the Arabian Sea will fuel this convergence zone to trigger weather activity over the central parts. Unseasonal Rain and thundershowers are likely over Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra on the 09th and 10th Feb, more so on the latter date. East Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha will be the chief beneficiaries of this wet spell.  The rains will become lighter and shift to parts of Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand the next day, on 11th Feb 2025. Broad clearance is expected on 12th Feb onwards over the complete region.
