The states of Bihar and Jharkhand have been witnessing dry weather conditions for the past few days. Meanwhile, temperatures are on the higher side over both these states. Moreover, some parts are even witnessing maximums above 35 degrees Celsius.

Yesterday, Bhagalpur recorded its maximum at 34.2°C, Gaya 34.5°C, Patna 33.5°C, Purnea 32.4°C, Chaibasa 37.4°C, Daltonganj 37.8°C, Jamshedpur 37.8°C and Ranchi 33.2°C. Maximum temperatures recorded in Jharkhand were relatively higher than Bihar.

Currently, a Western Disturbance would be moving over to the central parts of Tibet and its associated induced upper air trough will be seen extending from eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar to Odisha.

Simultaneously, an anti-cyclonic circulation lies over northwest parts of Bay of Bengal in the lower levels which is also providing moisture incursion over the states.

Due to presence of all these systems, the clouding is expected to increase over Jharkhand and Bihar.

Thus, spells of light rain and thundershowers with strong winds will affect some parts of these states between March 5 and 6.

Due to these approaching systems, maximum and minimum temperatures will be seen rising marginally.  Thereafter, after the movement of these systems both maximum and minimum temperatures will decrease by 2°C – 3°C.
