Low pressure area to develop over Bay of Bengal

The month of October has witnessed two cyclones. One in the Bay of Bengal and another in the Arabian Sea. Cyclones usually form in both the Seas between October and December. A low-pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal around November 14th it is expected to move in the west-northwest direction and intensify into a depression over the Central and adjoining South Bay of Bengal around November 16th.

Rain activities may commence over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu from November 15. The impact of this weather system will be seen across the East Coast right from Tamil Nadu up to Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal. The chances of intensification into a cyclone seem to be very low.

Wind speed may reach 45 to 55 Kmph in the Andaman Sea and central parts of the Bay of Bengal on November 14 and 15. And over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh on November 15 and 16. Fishermen are advised to take precautions.
