Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan gear up for rainy spells

January 30, 2019 7:01 PM | Skymet Weather Team

A fresh Western Disturbance has induced a Cyclonic Circulation over West Rajasthan and adjoining areas. We expect its combined effect in the form of scattered rains and thundershower over the western parts of the state, today and tomorrow. Isolated rains may also be seen in the eastern districts. Minimum temperatures have seen an increase during the last 24 hours in both the states of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

Another Western Disturbance will approach the state on February 4. Due to this, a Cyclonic Circulation will be induced over East Rajasthan, bringing along rains over the state and even on adjoining areas of North Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh receiving rains in this season is a rare phenomenon. It happens only when a North-South trough is formed, or any active Western Disturbance passes over Western Himalayas, inducing a Cyclonic Circulation over North Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan.

Back to back Western Disturbances over the Himalayan region will bring along rains over the area on February 4 and 5. After the passage of this weather system, clouding will prevail over the area. South-westerly and south easterly winds will keep away the winter chill.

Minimum temperatures may fall February 7 onward due to the dry and cold northerly winds. However, Cold Wave conditions will not make a comeback.
