These showers can be credited to the low pressure area lying over South Rajasthan and adjoining Gujarat region. Moreover, the off shore trough along the West Coast has become active and at present extends from Maharashtra to Kerala.

Besides these weather systems, southwesterly winds are blowing across the region which is why the moisture incursion has increased, thus resulting in good showers.

According to Skymet Weather, the glamorous city of India is likely to witness more showers. In fact, the intensity of these rains is expected to be moderate with isolated heavy.

For the month of July, the average rainfall figure of the city stands at 799.7 mm. Until date, Mumbai has received 360.1 mm of rainfall.
