Our meteorologists expect that the upcoming Western Disturbance will track more towards the lower latitudes and will be supported by a cyclonic circulation that is expected to form over Gujarat and adjoining Saurashtra coast and move to central parts of the country. These weather systems will move eastwards in tandem to bring rain over east Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Chhattisgarh and Odisha from 26th of February onwards.

In the past 24 hours,Jabalpurin Madhya Pradesh,Ambikapurin Chhattisgarh andJharsugudain Odisha in Central India recorded light rain while Chapra,Gaya, Muzaffarpur,Ranchiand Daltongunj in Jharkhand also recorded rain in East India. Meanwhile, these areas will witness less rain in the coming 24 hours as the cyclonic circulations persisting over these parts for the last couple of days have become weak. Weather in these parts would turn dry and cold after this period.

Northwest plains and Indo-Gangetic plains may continue witnessing fog during early morning hours for the next two days. Density of fog will depend on wind speed and fall in night temperatures in these areas.

In Peninsular India, madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha may have rain at isolated places under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over Gujarat which is fetching moisture from the Arabian Sea. In South India, Tamil Nadu coast will observe rain due to a trough of low that extends in southwest Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours as the weather system will move westward.
