Mumbai to brace for scorching heat next week

The recent spell of pre-Monsoon showers drenched a few parts of Madhya Maharashtra. However, due to the absence of any significant weather system over the coastal parts, the weather of Mumbai has remained dry.

On account of the persistent dry weather, the temperatures in Mumbai are settling around 38°C. Such weather is persisting from end of February and throughout the initial days of March. However, some rains showed up in Vidarbha and Madhya Maharashtra and thanks to this rainy spell, Mumbai witnessed some relief from the rising temperatures.

As per Skymet Weather, the wind pattern is likely to change over Konkan & Goa region along with Mumbai. The present flow of the wind from Northwesterly is likely to change to northerly winds which are comparatively drier and warmer.

These northerly winds may continue to blow over the region for the next couple of days thereby leading the temperatures to rise over the coastal areas of North Maharashtra and adjoining belt. The temperatures may shoot up and settle close to 38°C.

In fact, in the last 24 hours as well, the day temperatures were recorded at 31.7°C which may rise and settle between 34-35°C during the peak afternoon hours.

Similar weather condition may continue to sustain for next couple of days. The sky is likely to stay clear making the afternoons uneasy. Though, early morning and night will remain warm with breezy weather conditions.
