Fairly widespread moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers drenched several parts of Northeast India on Tuesday. Few places also recorded heavy to extremely heavy Monsoon showers.

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, low pressure area prevailing over Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining Assam and Meghalaya has given weather activity over the northeastern region.

The weather system is likely to stay over the region for next 24 hours, thereafter becoming less-marked. Skymet predicts, moderate rain over most of the places while heavy rain at few places on Thursday.

Intensity of rain will start reducing from September 26 onwards and good weather conditions can be observed over northeastern states. Wind pattern will also change to easterlies leading to minimal weather activity.

Following are the rainfall figures recorded across Northeast India in a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday.
