The reason for these rains over the entire state of Tamil Nadu can be attributed to the presence of a cyclonic circulation over Southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka and Tamil Nau coast. Northeast Monsoon has also activated over the state. Thus, moisture incursion has been taking place from the Bay of Bengal which will enhance rains over the region.
